Where Organic is Just the Beginning....

Why We Do It...

  • Local, Organic, Free Range beef is more ecologically sound. We believe in stewardship of our land for future generations.
  • Our Free-Range policy allows natural fertilization of our land without the toxic chemical buildup and disposal issues common on larger, commercial farms.
  • We believe healthy animals make for healthier people.
  • What We Do...

As a Certified Organic Farm, we raise beef free of hormones and antibiotics; but, we do so much more than that. We believe that being Organic is just the beginning.

We use ecologically sound and sustainable farming techniques, minimizing our reliance on fossil fuels:

  • We grow our own 100% organic hay right on the farm.
  • Our cattle are bred, born, and raised right here, on over 1,000 acres of rolling grass & clover pasture. This means no shipping to or from feed lots.
  • We fence the water sources on our land.

These practices reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, keep our environment safe, and produce healthier cattle.

  • What We Don’t Do...

We at Mount Airy Farms believe that what we don't do on our farm is just as important as what we do:

  • We do not confine our cattle. Our cows are truly 100% Free Range, never penned. Each cow is provided approximately 3 acres free range grazing, allowing our animals excellent forage opportunity without overuse of the land. It also means leaner beef, with all the nutrition benefits that Free Range and Grass-Fed beef provide.
  • We do not brand our cattle.
  • We do not genetically modify our breeding stock.
  • We do not purchase cattle from feedlots.
